Rock Star Blasts MAGA, Calls Trump 'Greatest Swindler in History'

Singer/bass player Ken Casey of Dropkick Murphys recently derided former President Donald Trump and his supporters during a show in Pennsylvania.

Video of Casey's comments from the Thursday performance at the Great Allentown Fair have been shared by users of social media. In the clips, Casey can be heard unloading on the MAGA faithful, saying, "If you're out there buying those f**king hats that these swindlers are selling at their f**king fair...then you're part of the problem."

Dropkick Murphys are a Celtic punk rock band from Massachusetts. They are perhaps best known for the hit single "I'm Shipping Up to Boston," which went platinum and was featured in Martin Scorsese's 2006 Academy Award-winning film The Departed. The group is also celebrated for putting on highly energetic live performances that have helped them build a fervent fan base.

Casey is no fan of Trump, though, a fact he made very clear during Thursday's show.

"You're being duped by the greatest swindler in the history of the world," Casey told the crowd of the Republican leader.

Casey's expletive-laden rant continued, "You're being duped by a bunch of grifters and billionaires who don't give a s**t about you or your family. They care about their f**king tax breaks and the money they can put in their pocket. If you consider yourself a patriot and you're spouting off that election-denying s**t, I will fight your ass outside if you want to. Wake the f**k up!"

His message, which he concluded by thanking the audience, was met with mostly cheers.

Casey has criticized Trump before in the past, including telling an interviewer his blood pressure went down after President Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election.

Dropkick Murphys have also made it clear that they don't want Republican politicians using their music at rallies after former Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker once took to the stage to "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" in 2015.

"Please stop using our music in any way...we literally hate you !!! Love, Dropkick Murphys," the band tweeted to Walker at the time.

Dropkick Murphys are among the many musicians who have publicly taken a stand against Trump. The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Guns 'N' Roses have also publicly stated their opposition to the former president.

Recently, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister fame has been among the most vocal rock stars who have made headlines for denouncing MAGA politicians and their beliefs.

Newsweek reached out to Dropkick Murphys for comment.
