Actor Denise Richards made designers Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson’s “worst” client list when they recounted a few shocking encounters they had with the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star.
“I feel that there’s been some, not, you know, a couple of difficult ones, Denise Richards. She’s just, She’s just too much, Atteu said on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast.
“He made a gown, a wedding gown for her, for the movie Comeback-ish, which is on Netflix right now. She’s just not the nicest person,” Simpson said.
When the designers worked with Richards on set, Atteu recalled Richards offered water to everyone in the room including her makeup and hair stylists, but not Atteu and Simpson. He said they felt “worse” than the hired help.
“Cause that’s how she treated us,” Atteu said. “Worse, worse, pretty bad. I mean, we’re the only ones sitting in the room, and the trailer is only this big.”
Denise Richards seemed annoyed with the film’s producer
Atteu said, “And we’re the nice, you know, we’re the nicest people to everybody. I’d never experienced such nastiness from someone. All because when she treated one of our friends really with disrespect very badly, when they were knocking on the trailer door for her to get on set and she goes, ‘Why are these Indian people always coming to knock on the door? They’re so rude. Don’t they understand?'”
“I said, you know, that individual is the reason why you’re here. She’s the producer of this movie b****!” he continued. “And she’s actually the Nicole Kidman of all of Asia. She’s huge. She’s a huge actress.”
Simpson added, “She was very derogatory to the Indian people that hired her for the movie. We saw it firsthand.”
The producer was friends with Pol and Patrik
“She was so nasty to the producer, the Indian producer, who was our friend, Pooja Batra, huge Indian actress. She was so nasty to her. And that’s the reason that she was on set. She was hired by her. It wasn’t even the water,” Simpson recalled.
“The context of the whole thing was just, how do you not respect people that are in your, right in your space? Like how do you, how do you do that? It’s just not right,” Atteu remarked.
Simpson said guests are always treated with respect when they come into their space. “You come into our boutique and we treat you with such, clients come into our boutique first thing, Do you want any water? That’s the first thing I do is I offer them water, champagne, wine, whatever,” he said.
They worked on Denise Richards’ show ‘It’s Complicated’ too
Atteu and Simpson have also been on Richards’ short-lived reality show It’s Complicated. “So when I, so when I said that to her, yeah, I think it kind of put her off that I knew that person and that she should be allowed to say whatever she wants,” he said about Richards’ remark toward the producer. “And I felt bad cause I’m like, I don’t think you should be saying things like this. It’s not appropriate. But then I was also on her [It’s Complicated].”
“But they also got into it,” Simpson recalled. “I don’t know why, what happened in the trailer? She screamed, get the f*** out of here. Then he left.”
“And then she sent somebody to the boutique, begging him to come back cause she was sorry the way she treated us,” he continued. “And that’s just not nice. She told the producers of her show as we’re there at Rodeo Drive taping around the corner from my store. Oh, Why are all the cameras following him? This is my show.”
“And the producer said he’s the best thing you’ve got on your show right now. Just shut up. We’re nice to everybody. So I don’t know. I just don’t understand it. We don’t get it. It’s too bad” Simpson added.
